I'm curious as to how people are working around some of the effects limitations of the 1k, specifically delay. I WISH it was included with the 1k. So far I'm using an Elektron Machinedrum midi's to the 1k, as well as Ableton Live.

Any suggestions?

To get a sort of dubby stab delay you can do the following:

* Trim the sound u want to delay...
* Turn Loop on in the trim screen...
* Assign the sample to a pad...
* Go to the decay attributes in the program window...
* Turn up decay from about 80-100...
* Press the pad with the looped sample and listen to it slowly fade away..

:D

That was posted a while back.. then theres the obvious way of repeating what u want to delay (eg, every other beat of 4 bars) then going into step edit and turn down the velocity increasingly with each trigger. (or louder with each trigger on every beat for example.. just depends on what ur after)

Thats how ive been gettin round it.. it is very annoying tho as it seems like something that could've easily been incorperated.. not much coding needed... for a simple delay at least...

Maybe we'll get it in an update?

Anyway.. hope this has helped

Thanks, it helped alot. I also came up with a way, maybe its helpful, maybe its been said a thousand times. For snare hits for example, I'll setup up other tracks with the same snare sound. I'll assign then linked filter settings, some with low resonance, some with high. I also give them seperate effects settings in the mixer, by making sure I assign them to unique pads. For each snare I activate the q-link sliders for both tune and filter.

After I make my dry pass, I then dub with different snares. I make a second (or third or fourth) pass with the q-link sliders to add some variation to the "delay" - like in dub reggae. Setting the bars count to 16 or 32, you can get some delay feedback type effects going on.

It also works well with the loop technique. I make wto variations of the loops - one with a short attack and long delay, and one with a long attack and no delay. I then sequence them back to back. Afterwords I dosome tweaking with the sliders. Great for creating movement in the patter. By also assigning the loops to unique pads, you can give them unique filter and effect settings.

I'm really impressed with how much you can squeeze out of this little beast. i can only imagine what you can do with the memory upgrade.

Thats a good one.. I havnt seen that one posted before but looks good to me.. :D and yeah.. you really can squeeze a lot out of it.. the 1k does have limitations but limitations inspire creativity.. just gotta put ya mind to it and think "how can I achieve this" and if that fails.. come here n ask :P
