Hey guys, my optimus prime 1000 is just about dead on two pads - mpcstuff has been out of stock for a while for replacement kits it seems.. VST's site is being weird.. Has anyone recently had any pad fix kits come their way? Do the new kits take longer to die out?

Just wondering whether to dtich my 1k if I keep having to replace the pads every 100 shows.. shit's getting depressing.. might have to suck it and go Ableton.

I'm hoping they renew their stock soon, too. I'm needing a replacement cursor button (you have to really push down to make the cursor go right.) I'd love to have an idea when they'd be available or where else I might be able to get one

Instead of sitting around and waiting for the pads to be in stock I scored on a mint newer model 1000 with upgraded pads for $525. I sold my my old 1000( dead pads) to an unsuspecting customer for $425. When you do the math I actually paid 100 for the pads upgrade plus everything is new on the 1000. Not a bad trade with cash on the side.

I've been looking for some new pads as well, mpcstuff.com replied to my email saying will have the $180 pad upgrade kit sometime in January :)

You're a disgrace to Lowell. Jack Kerouac would hate you.

mpcstuff.com has the replacements pads in now. I ordered them last week and i recieved them this past weekend. the site might still say that they are out but just call to place the order instead of doing it through the site....

Nah I do not feel bad at all. The kid that bought the MPC acted like he knew what he was buying. He acted "Mr-Know-It-All" on me. He played around on the MPC for an hour testing the pads. Even made an eight bar sequence and a beat. What he didn't know was some of the pads were dying. I even told him it was the older model so you'd have to hit a little harder on the pads. He didn't care after an hour coughed up the money and it was sold.

When you look at it on the bright side it wasn't a bad deal because the MP came with JJOS2, maxed ram, 1/4 cables, midi cables, and i even threw in 2 CF cards full of drum sample to get him started. Never got a complaint because the kid lives two town over.

Trust me I'm not that shady like other people. I've been ripped off worst than this. This is nothing compared to to what I went through.
