Individual track tempo change?

Is it possible to speed up or slow down the tempo on individual tracks in a sequence. I saw a video of producer hi tek, and I herd him saying the hat needs to be faster. So he sped it up...If there is a way,, what is the procedure..Thanks....

WTF did this producer use an MPC like yours? what os are you using?? Did he do it in real time or stop music and do it? sounds like he just pitch shifted a patchphrase in program window. But thats a bit too obvious right? I mean if you read the manual you will know this function. not the best method though. not one i would recommend. If an individual track has different tempo then it will be out of time like some really bad dj trying to beat match...
You need to RTFM and search forum more to see this. At least give link to video so we have at least some idea what on earth you are on about. That would be good and then we can make sure we give you the right answer

I'll try to locate the video on you tube..I saw it long time ago. But I remember it wasn't a mpc 1000 It look more like a 2000.. Reason why I would like to know is because it would be cool to just make the hi hats go faster,, forward without effecting the other tracks...sometimes I feel like my hats are dragging..and I've tried several tricks but can't get them to how I want them..any tips would help...thanks for the replie..

Yeah dude. why don t you start with what MPC you have? Then reread my previous post. You seem to have issues with your samples not being played in the timing you desire? is this correct.
did you read manual about tempo change. I ask AGAIN because with out much information i can not help you. Yes MPC can do this but if your hihats are not in time its more likely you need to read manual about sequencer, and Timing correct. any tempo changes done to the tracks affects the sequence so it would change all tracks to that tempo, so most likely changed pitch of sample that is looped and triggered by the sequencer in a track through the program window!!!

do you actually want to change the tempo, or just make the hats happen earlier?

if you change the tempo they'll get more and more out of time with the rest of the sequence

you might just want to shift them forward. or maybe even edit your hat samples to trim off any silence before the sample, as that would make the hats sound "late" if each time you trigger a sample it plays a bit of silence before the actual sample

Thanks for your help...It sounds like probably there isn't a way, or maybe I herd something else..I have a mpc 1000,,i believe it has the latest akai os...because I recently updated..Do want the hats to go a little late but faster...I could never get them right...I tried quantize and swing and still struggle a bit..Do you guys use the tempo change on your sequences? Any cool tips? To get them to feel good. Most of my drum patterns,, sound a bit to stiff..
