MPC 1000 To Logic via Midi USB cable

I'm on a real tight budget and am trying to be able to record what I'm playing on my MPC straight into Logic, I picked up a cable from best buy yesterday thats a MIDI to USB. Guy told me its as easy as just plugging it in but thats a lie. fail. can anybody help me? Am I gonna have to get some kind of interface and is this cable crap for what I want to do?

Do you have a audio interface? if so just get 1\4 to 1\4 cables, our 1\4 to RCA depending on your interface, if you don't have a interface you can try something like this.........
