Saving files

Hey,
I'm still on the learning courve, but I'm tryin'...
To save and organise things is still not clear for me. (my memory card is a mess)

for example(try to explain it. It's not that easy specially english is not my mother language ):
-I load some drums, samples, etc...and start to work and than save like a "project1".
-Next day open "project1" and working on different songs but on the end everything saved on "project1".
Another day just trying out something without open "project1".
I cannot save this in the same name because it overwrites "project1" so now I have to make another "project", and from now on, there is already 2 project, one with lots of samples, songs, ideas and and another one with new ideas.
I cannot open both thogether because if I open project1 and listen, working with it and than I want to listen what's in project2 it's close the first project.
I hope that make sence
It's just getting a big mass on my card I don't know which sample I used which not where is this where is that...
I'd be very appreciate it if someone give an advice how should I organise that.

most people recommend creating a new folder for each project

save all samples, seqs and programs in that folder, so everything is kept together

when you start a new project, create a new folder and keep everything separate in that new folder

and make a new project for every song. so... new song = new project = new folder.

You can load samples and programs from one project into another project if you want to use the same drums, for example.

Thats what I'll do.
So, if I'm working for example on "project3" and than I want to work on a different project, so I load that the new project without turning the MPC off, so that overwrites the "project3".
I'm done and I want to turn off the MPC. I have to save it to get everything I did on this new project, and when I do that it's gonna save all the samples, everything from the "project3" what was open before?

All right! So that's just erase from the project folder not the sample itself from the card, right?

it purges them from memory, it doesn't delete anything off the card
