Weird event playing after record

Hi there !

I'm very happy with this funny tool but I'm encountering some weird playing at some times.. Well, this happens when I have to record some events while others are playing. I suspect this to happen since I removed the hard drive to only work from the CF device. I'm afraid it can't handle such a bandwidth for reading and recording at a time, even though I guess recorded events are stored into ram before getting stored into the CF device. So, when playing a sequence, some events are put back or brought forward. Other than that, if I make an event record with just one or two tracks playing at the time, it works fine..

What about this ? any idea ??

The description is a little sketchy... but maybe try turning Time Correction off when you record... or adjust the NOTE VALUE to 1/16 or 1/32. If it is set to 1/8 and you're hitting the pads on ticks that aren't within the 1/8 Note Value, then it's gonna push the elements to the nearest 1/8th. Thus, causing playback to sound completely different than your live performance.

But when you say the problem is solved when you play only one or two tracks at a time, I lose ya. But I'm thinking that perhaps your two issues aren't related. Maybe some of your samples that you want set to POLY are set to MONO, and therefore upon playback, they mute each other out when you have the same MONO sample recorded on multiple tracks. Also, check your MUTE GROUPS.

But you're right... it shouldn't have anything to do with your hard drive.

Well, okay. I noticed that an event record goes well when you don't record it while all the tracks are playing with their own events. But, when I do an event record session while having others tracks playing, it's like the MPC has to face a CPU overload that leads to some difficulties to handle the events to record while playing others at same time, it's pretty weird.. And I noticed this from the time I removed the hard drive to only work from the flash card, like if the MPC has to make many transfers which slows down the whole unit and thus, puting back or forward the events.. I don't know whether I'm clear enough lol..

Haven't been here for a bit.. My apologies, bro... Sucks being teased with a reply only to be left hanging. You figure out a fix yet? It could be so many different things, but still kinda hard to troubleshoot based on the description. Bet ya a video reference would help a lot... and I'd be willing to take a look... that is, if it's worth it to you to go thru all that.

It's okay, don't worry, I haven't had the time to investigate since the beginning of the year. I just checked for any replies in this topic recently and got surprised that I didn't notice your response before, well anyway..

Concerning the MPC, I'm planning to mount the hard-drive to see what happens next.. I'm suspecting some kind of malfunction coming from the flash card or something like that..
