I recently bought the kingston 144 pin ram off ebay ( http://cgi.ebay.com/AKAI-MPC-1000-2500- ... 563796c68a ), and it is not working :? when i boot my mpc 1000 i get an loading error similar to the one from this thread, viewtopic.php?f=15&t=122273&hilit=upgrade, except mine doesnt get past 50% on the first pass. ive tried reseting the ram multiple times with no luck.

ive read all the topics pertaining to this issue but not no one has provided a reason to why this is happening. am i **** and will have to just buy new ram, if so are there any precautions i should take when handling the ram, i was fairly gentle with the one i have now so im not sure what happened,

any feedback would be appreciated

are you sure the ram is placed all the way in? try popping it out and putting it back in... maybe look and see if the ram chip's connectors are a little rusty... if so, you can use a pencil eraser to remove any corrosion... good luck...

ive taken it out and put it back in over a dozen times now. i did find some dried goop shit on the thin bottom edge of the chip that i was able to remove with an eraser but not all of it. after that my mpc was able to make it to the third pass then went to shit again. guess im just gonna have to get new ram
