Using a program while in RECORD mode.....is it possible?

This question is more out of curiosity than anything. I want to start incorperating my MPC 1000 with my performances....Currently I have my turntable mixer inputed into the MPC and then my MPC into my mixer into my monitors, etc.

Is it possible to have the audio thats coming from my turntables keep playing while being able to use a drum program? Basically I want to be able to juggle and scratch on my turntables and have someone on the MPC laying down the drums w/o having to take up 4 channels on my mixer. In essence, is there another way to have the audio from my turntables keep playing w/o being in RECORD mode?

I'm using MPC 1000 JJOS2XL ver 2.0beta w/ 2 technic 1200 and a vestax mixer.

Input thru. From the MAIN screen, hold down shift and press f6.
