Ram is not being recognized

So I got my an ram upgrade after having my mpc for like a year haha. The problem is when I installed it it doesn't say its 128 when I turn it on. Says the same old 16mb is installed. Anyone have this problem before or know anything about it? It is 'Every Upgrade' ram bought off ebay.

It could be any of the following:

1) Either the contacts of the RAM or the connector is dirty. Have you tried cleaning the RAM and/or the connector with isopropyl alcohol?

2) The RAM is not installed properly. Is the RAM clicking into place when you seat it? The video linked below shows the installation process.

3) You did not purchase the correct memory or the seller sent a wrong stick. What brand and type of RAM did you receive?

4) The RAM module is bad. Contact the seller for a replacement.

5) The RAM connector is broken or the main board has issues. This is a worse case scenario.

The video you posted is the one I followed to install. It did indeed click in so I don't see that being the problem. I'm going to try and clean the contacts today, if that doesn't work I'm going to send a message to the seller and ask for a new card. If that doesn't work maybe I should try the official akai ram? Possibly to prove its not my boards connector that is the problem.

Akai branded RAM will not work any different than one branded by a different manufacturer. You will overpay for what you are getting and it will not solve the issue if you have a problem with the MPC 1000 mainboard.

What you need is 1 stick of 144-pin PC133 SODIMM of 256MB RAM.
