Questions from a new user

Hey guys. So, I just received my new MPC1000 today, and I'll be upgrading the RAM to 128 as soon as the chip gets here. I also have a 2 GB CF card on the way. My primary question is this -- I plan on using my MPC in conjunction with my MacBook Pro (particularly using Logic Pro on the MBP). So I was wondering, do I really need to purchase a hard drive for the MPC, or can I store all of my files on my MacBook Pro?

I'm not really a musician, and I'm not planning on doing live gigs at the moment. I'm actually a filmmaker, and I'm using the MPC to create music for my films. In other words, I'll be using it to record for the moment, not for live stuff.

ok IMHO you should be able to get away with not using a harddrive in your MPC. The reason is that you will be able to copy off the CF card onto Macbook hardrive when CF card is full.
The Ram is needed to do realy large samples and complicatted arrangements but What you will definitly need is a USB to midi interface so you can hook up Logic with MPC and have then synced and playing together in time.
