"WRONG FILE" when trying to load WAV sample

i just saved a .WAV file/sample on my MPC, but when i go to load it, it says WRONG FILE. whats going on?

i loaded it from my computer, when the sample was recorded to.

The sample is probably 24 BIT. Save it as 16 Bit and the 1000 will read it.

Make sure it reads .wav on your desktop, otherwise it can't be read -

it does read .WAV, its a WAV file.

and it is a 16bit sample

Have you upgraded the OS off the www.akaipro.com website - I had the same problem with files bounced out of Pro-Tools

i read the documentation/release nots, they only improve that problem with protools, i dont use that, i used adobe audition to record the samples.

i updated anyways, no luck

You could try opening the samples in something like QuickTime then exporting the files. When you export, set the options for 44.1kHz, 16 bit, mono/stereo.

If it opens up in your sound editor the file is probablly allright but some wav files have extra data imbedded in the header of the file (Like for Acid files). The MPC is known to have problems with this extra data. Check your sound editor settings and/or preferences for any kind of extra data being imbedded into the wav file and disable it.
