moveing events

yo! does anyone know how to simply move a midi event on an MPC1000?
On the 4000 you just got to step edit and bang in a new time value for the event. Theres no simple way of doin it as far as I can tell on the 1000.
I can see how to move the time position of a note in event move section but thats not the same! am I missin something obvious

step edit > copy the event, paste it to new location, delete old note... not simple, granted.

even an old mc500 can do this like a breeze...

Ha, the 60 3.10 has cut and paste, takes a step out of the process!
