ill be buying my mpc 1000 in a few days, and from doing some research, i see that im going to have fork out some extra money for upgrades. i would like to know which upgrades are necessary and which ones are not. the three things that i think i should buy are a RAM upgrade, the JJOS (where the hell do i get that and how much), and a hard drive. i know the hardrive isnt completly necessary due to the sd carb port, but i like the idea of having all my shit one one thing in one place. but the only harddrive ive found is 120 gb, i know i dont need that much memory is there one around 80 gb? and are there any other things i should buy?

There are several paid versions. It's best to check that list another time because there's just too much stuff to mention.

But the most importent differences between Akai OS and the free JJOS version are:

Global Program edit mode. So that means you can change parameters for a complete program instead of each pad individually.

Grid edit mode

Better interface for chopping and loading/saving.

Faster everything. Better everything.
Any more questions?

Oh, by the way, you can get the RAM for under $20. Check the stick thread at the top of the forum for RAM specs. Use your savings to pay me for my advice... Or to buy JJ, but I think paying me is better...
