Hardware Setup help

I have an MPC 1000, M Audio Venom, and a mixer. Im having issues connecting the synth to the MPC so I can record what I play. I dont want to sample it. I want to play and have a loop. I had it hooked up to where I could here the synth but the volume was very low and when I turned it up there was more hiss than the synth sounds. I just need to know how to connect my hardware so I can get back to making music.

That didnt help the issue at all. Theres still a lot of hiss and low volume from my keyboard.

sounds like you have input THRU settings of MPC set to off, and you are actually just getting signal bleed. IF this is case, turn down synth first before setting thru to on, incase you blow your eardrums or speakers.

I had the cable hooked up wrong. I came across a step by step video youtube. Unfortunately, I ran into another issue with recording my performance. When I change the sound patch to play another melody the MPC keeps the playing the notes I recorded but with whatever I change the sound to. Ive been searching and havent found anything on how to add new tracks and sounds.

Look in the manual of your M Audio Venom explaining it's 4-part multitimbrality.
I don't know the M Audio Venom but if it can receive midi on 4 different channels at once, then you need to set it up accordingly.
