from 2000XL to 1000

Hello everyone, I am a new MPC 1000 user. For the past two years, IU'd been sequencing with the 2000XL. What are some differences between the two that I should be aware of? One specific question that I do have though is how do I scroll thru the sounds of my modules from the mpc1000 (via midi). I noticed this part of the 1000 is a bit different from the 2000XL. please help. thanks.

General "what's the differernce between MPC2000XL vs MPC1000" questions have been done to death here, they're very different machines.

Not sure what you mean by scrolling thru the sounds of modules...
Start on the Main page, with a selected Track, and you set up the Track's MIDI settings (e.g. 1A for Port A channel 1). The selected Track's settings apply to the Pads too, so you can send MIDI out live on the same channel.

You can embed MIDI Program Changes in the sequences, but there's no quick way to send one out from the front panel, if that's what you mean? The Program field applies to the MPC's sample engine only, not to any MIDI devices.
