Small what to do 1000 problem

ok straight to the point I have a 5000 in addition to that I want a 1000 (mainly for vocals,and the fact of being able to do fully fleshed out ideas on the go.) I peeped the 500 but can't get past the two line screen thingy.ok I'm already cool with the 5000's 8-track harddisk which me personally I use for vocals and out board instruments but the problem is I live in an appartment with paper thin walls can't put up sound proofing cuz the landlord won't allow it,so I thought about the Tascam DP-03 or the Tascam DP-008 for vocals that I could finish elsewhere.(buddies house,studio,car where ever...)But I Really have always wanted a 1000 to which I could put vocals on with more than 8 tracks.......the tascams are cheaper and can get my vocals done but the 1000 is an all around little beast and can get the whole job done..........what would you do????

Where do you live first?I lived in Los Angeles most my life and have both created beats and rehearsed
with my band in a apartment.Know your rights(CITY ORDINANCE)You have a right to make noise under
most city codes. Remember no construction would ever get done without those codes.
