New Hard Drive Questions

Until recently, I have been saving everything to a CF, but tonight I installed a hard drive. The install went well, but I was wondering:

1- When I connect my computer via usb to the MPC, it only recognizes the CF. Is that normal?
2- Is there a simple way to transfer the contents of my CF, or just a folder from the CF to the Hard Drive? Right now I am loading from the CF, and saving to the hard drive, one at a time. There has to be a better way!

make sure you have access to the cf card and the hd via the computer. then you can drag and drop your files/folders from the card to the hd

you have to select HARD DISK on the usb page to mount the HD instead of the CF card - did you do that?

you can only mount one at a time, so the computer can onyl access either the CF card or the HD, not both at once

two options:

1) mount the CF card. drag everything from the CF card to the computer. unmount the CF card and mount the HD. drag everything from the computer to the HD

2) use a card reader on the computer, take the CF card out of the mpc and put it in the computer's reader. mount the HD. drag everything from the CF card to the HD.
