simple questions

so i got my 1000 today and the two things i cant figure out are

1) how to change the behavior for when you strike the pads, like whether or not you have to hold the pad down to hear the beginning of the sample or the whole thing and vica versa. right now when i strike the pad the whole sample plays even when i take my finger off and i can hit it 30 times and it will just echo over itself 30 times. i want to have so when i take the pressure off, the sample stops.

2) how to delete the programs and sounds that came with the machine. right now everytime i turn it on i got programs called CD5 and DJ_HIP_SET and other lame names. i at least wanna get it to the point where its not the default sounds that always come up and maybe even to the point where i get rid of them all together but i dont know how. would i be deleting programs or sequences to do this?

like i said, ive been using it for about 4 hours now and these are the two things that have been frustrating me. just figured id try and get some help before i call it a night

ok, so i figured out how to delete the auto load shit, but i honestly can figure out how to change from one shot to note on. please help
