Where are you hearing the clicks?... Try adjusting the attack if its at the beginning loop point.....

queston outta curiousity, did you upgrade from 1.03 or earlier?

By jksuperstar Wed Jul 07, 2004 4:27 am
1st make sure the loop points have the same level ... most people use a zero crossing. If the end loop point is not the same as the beginning loop point, there will be a click.

What software tools are you using? This forum has found out certain .WAV files from some tools have a header (extra info about the file) that the MPC reads as noise, silence, or clicks. Maybe your seeing something similar, but the junk is near the end of the file instead.

I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. IM USING OS 1.04. COULD THIS BE THE REASON? BASICALLY AFTER I PLAY A SAMPLE THAT I WANT TO LOOP I WILL HERE A CLICK RIGHT AFTER THE SAMPLE ENDS. THESE ARE SAMPLES I BOUGHT FROM THIS SITE SO I KNOW THE PROBLEM IS NOT WITH THE SAMPLES. ANY OTHER IDEAS??

you still might have to attack the sounds on the mpc.

dutch you should upgrade to 1.05 which takes care of the clicks, or at least we hope it does

Cool Edit: This is exactly what I use. Make sure when you save the file the "Save Additional Info" is UNCHECKED. You can confirm this by opening a sample in TRIM mode on the MPC, and zoom in to the 1st 1K bytes...it will be all zeroes, followed by spike, then your sample. If you save from cool edit without the additional info, this extra crap will not be there.

You can do a batch conversion to clean up all the files you already have.

i may be wrong, but isn't the "additional info" the looping and ppitch info (if any..example Acidized wav's)

I remeber back when I got the machine, there was a Wavelab meta-data issue.clicking an shi-ot. I think it was fixed in an OS update (maybe cool-edit has a few unique issues that need to be addressed), but I still haven't needed to embed loop points..the first post hints that the loop points may be big deal to this user.

I will include it in my next letter to akai...Ive been hammering suggestions for a while now, I suggest that everyone does...they reacted to the last bug reports fairly quickly...I suppose they may have been working on it already....but I think they realize that Akai-clout is down [mv-8000 outselling the mpc 4000, and the plethora of 4000s available used for low $$$]

Hopefully they will implement some user-requests to really bring the mpc series back to the front-line...on "easy-to-use " merits...what better source than the actual users.

Yeah this happens to me 2, just today in fact. It doesn't happen with all samples just some, like today it was only with the sampled bass and only when it was in the upper register. If I went to the trim mode, and played the whole sample the click would not be there, and if I bounced it back to my computer the click wouldn't be there, it was just when I was at the MAIN screen and during playback...weird.....I just set the Sample Overlapping to Mono and made sure the bass didn't get to the end of the sample before it started over but it's pretty annoying...I have OS 1.05 also...peace
