Plays samples but nothing from factory.

I bought a MPC1000 today. It's the blue and red one. It says it has 4.44 loaded on it. I have searched through to try and find an answer to my issue but I have yet to come across one. If I record and load a sample it will play when I hit the pad, but if I try and play the drums loaded in it from factory nothing happens. Even when I am on the preview page the only sound that will come out is a sample. Also, I can only get audio from the headphone jack, when I plug anything into any of the 1/4" outputs no sound comes out. I have yet to try midi due to the lack of a cable. Any help would be appreciated.

when you do load your factories with the samples to them not just the programs, maybe the person wiped the hard disk clean , do you see seq an wav in your hard disk?
