Hey people,

Has anyone had the MPC stuff wood side panels installed on your MPC 1000?

If so, can you post a review or better yet some pics of them installed? I'd like to make sure the fit is right before ordering them.

Any feedback much appreciated.

Been thinking of getting them wood sides myself.....actually thinking about tricking my 1000 totally out (pimpin out my 1000). For a while i wasnt interested in doing anything to it cuz i always figured i would grab a 2500 or 3000, but thanks to JJOS I really dont feel the need to jump ship, and since its the machine that i first learned to do sampling, chopping, etc it has sentimental value so why not pimp it out. I copped a white lcd this summer which looks DOPE!!!! Hoping now to get the wood sides, black pads, black buttons, and some custom knobs. This dope @$$ producer named Solograph has some wood sides on his. Here's a video showing them.

I just broke a button on mine, so I might change my LCD color, maybe the wood panels. The Custom 1000 thread one here has good photos of some but it's gazillion pages long.

I have a 2500 and caompared with 1000/JJOS it's just a bigger, more solid surface, so you probably made the right choice. Make sure you buy the MPCStuff Fat Pads for the 1000, they are excellent, and make the sensitivity as good as any other MPC.

Just screw two 2 x 4s on each side and viola.

you're right...not hard at all given you got the tools or access to them....make to cardboard templates, one for each side of the mpc...cut it out...trace it on to piece of wood cut it out nice and straight, sand it down treat it with your choice of dye, clear coat and there you have it

Yeah, I was scratching my head for a moment when they didn't seem to fit. Had to bend the metallic pieces outwards (just a little bit) with pliers.

Basic white. http://www.mpcstuff.com/akai-mpc-1000-white-replacement-pad-set--wh1000.html Have to mention that they're almost brand new (thus shiny).

Dunno what happens after a year of constant usage. I'm suspecting that in time they start to look something like my q-link & volume/rec knobs (should be white aswell) or worse :-D

Oh & btw. check out this thread: http://mpc-forums.com/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=148240 My pads don't have the embedded logo, but I don't know what's the situation now.
