I use the mpc 1000 and the jj os 2. I just finished a song and now I wanted to record the individual tracks by resampling them (as my damn soundcard is not working at the moment).

my problem is the following:

I got about 10 tracks to resample. I soloed an specific track and went to the record menu and started to record the track. For some tracks this worked without any problem. My problem is now that if I want to record a track that has no notes at the very beginning of the track, my mpc will not start recording the track from the very beginning...because the mpc is waiting for the input signal !!!! but of course I want to record every track from the very beginning, eventhough some of them have no sounds (notes) in the very beginning of the track....I think this should be possible because if not..how am I going to fit all the pieces together to recreate my song ???

I hope someone can help me...would really appreciate it ! thanks a lot

Hello,

If your soundcard is down and you can't use MIDI, you can insert one or two blank bars at the beginning of your song (SEQ EDIT mode). Then you put a short sample like a click on all your tracks in order to realign everything in your DAW.

Hope that helps.

this is easy... in the RECORD screen, move the cursor to the THRESHOLD LEVEL and turn the data wheel all the way left until it's set to either an infinity sign or whatever the lowest level is [i'm in JJOS1 and it's a -infinity sign]... this will make it start recording as soon as you hit record...

hey there

Thanks for those ideas ! I am now trying this "trick" with the blanks and I am pretty sure that it works ! thanks a lot !

On the other hand...this trick to set the threshold to infinity does NOT work for me. I tried this and the problem is:

It does start immediately now when I start record but it does not start immediately if I press play...it still waits until the first note comes in...an therefore it is useless as I will still not be able to rearrange my tracks properly !

thanks for your posts ! highly appreciated !

best wishes
