I am kind of trying to start some drama, but in a good way. I bought the mpc 1000 when it first came out and I had loved it. But I kept noticing the infamous bug that caused samples to occasionally not trigger. I went through two mpc 1000's before I decided that I could not cope with that type of an issue. I need to rely on this type of a machine for live performances. Time has passed and I keep checking back here to see if I can confidently reinvest in the mpc 1000 again. It has so many features that I am looking for. All that I need to know is that what I program will play back how I programmed it when I depend on it. Why do people keep buying and supporting this machine with a "serious" defect? How difficult is it for Akai to fix this one ailment? Why don't I see more complaints from newbies concerning this issue?
On a totally unrelated note, why can't effect settings be saved in a more intelligent manner. This machine is frustrating in design. Some aspects are brilliant, others are moronic.
peace I guess
