New User w/ Spare part needed: PCB right side

First let me say I'm a new MPC user, making the move from the Mv8000 (i come in peace,lol). But recently I had it go out on me and was given an MPC1000, that needed "ALOT" of tlc. The previous owner that gave it to the person that gave it to me, had dipped the casing in acid because he didn't like the blue color. Then left it in a wet basement for a few years were it rusted and wasn't protect (why you would neglect a piece of gear like that is beyond me). So my sister got it but could'nt use it so she gave it to me. So I immediately took it apart replaced the casing and found the PCB board is cracked completely on the right side so there's little to no volume and minus a couple buttons everything else looks to be in good condition (damn thing is built like a tank). So I've been able to find everything except that board online sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. If anybody has a spare board I would love to make arrangements to buy it from you ASAP. So if you have one or know someone that does please PM me or post it. I appreciate the help in advance..... Peace

that pcb is fine if you know how to solder. you might as well give it a shot. find the leads that are broken by the cracked PCB and then solder short cables between the 2 disconnected terminals. scrape back the copper from the PCB at and around the crack, and you should be good to go.

otherwise, email MPCstuff, VST, or that UK mpc store.

the more i look at it the less i can tell exactly how big that crack is. it looks different from 1 pic to the next.
whatever you do, hang onto the spare PCB.

What's up Nym sorry for the late response. Im gonna try and find another board but your right it may be worth a shot to try the DIY approach since its already busted anyway. But I have a couple questions first, by scraping away the green coating will that expose the copper on either side of the cracks? Second, yesterday I downloaded the jjos3.12 and installed it, and now I get static in my right side headphones where as before I didn't get any sound from the right side at all. Now before I did the update I held shift+power on to reset everything. Also I noticed a lot more gain (it only works turned to the max) even though I believe that the gain knob is about shot. So my question is do you think that because the PCB board is cracked, that this is the reason I'm only getting volume from that left side or is it that the adda board maybe damaged as well. So anyway let me know what you think.... Peace.

NYM!! I FIXED IT!! It was purely by accident and the grace of God. I took it to work and soldered the leads across the cracks and that ultimately didn't fix it and I was pissed. So i came home and decided that I would take the record gain switch and replace the main gain switch since it was busted! And ill be damn if I didn't get both channels playing and no static. I also took it completely apart and reseated everything and that may have helped but it is working. Thanks for giving me the idea to try and solder it, I owe you one! Next is a pad replacement and get a new record gain switch and if you know where I can get one plz let me know. Again thanks a million!!

Good job saving that MPC. Definitely worth all the effort involved.

Sorry for the late response fellas, Ive been figuring out soo much about the 1000 that makes creating music (especially sampling) extremely easy so I think Im gonna keep repairing it and try to give it a good home. Also fellas if you know where I can get an extra switch for the record gain plz let me know. Mpc stuff tried to sell me a whole PCB board (that was out of stock, what kinda sh!t is that!?). So I just bought (2) stereo splitters for the alternate outs on my mixer and just routed them to the MPC. So for now I can control the input gain with my submix fader, which is pretty convenient for the time being. But anyway I just wanted to show my gratitude and Ill be posting some music soon. Again thanks.....

i actually liked the rusty MPC look. Was not something you see everyday. Props to your DIY skills. I am thinking of doing myself with a spare one. Gives it a very old school flavour i think.
