8gb cf card

I purchased a used MPC 1000 black about a year ago, and i came with an 8 gig memory card.

Now, ive been reading documentation that suggests that the MPC can only use up to a 2 gig card. while mine seems to be fine.

That being said, all i save on the card is samples and programs. I have encountered some strange behavior when saving project files. could this be because of the over sized card?

The card is a "Transcend Compact flash 8gb 133x"

Any thoughts?

hmm this is very strange I hope its not because of the card being oversized, i've got a 16gb card coming in the mail and i absolutely need to save full projects on it! lol

i just picked up a 4GB and it works........although it only recognizes 3.86 GB of free space after format

yeah that's normal, it's file format overhead and that 1 gigabyte = 1024 megabyte
