Change Sequence via MIDI?

I am very sorry if this has been brought up before but I cannot find it anywhere (manual or in different 'net searches) but is it possible to change sequences via MIDI?

Going to be using a Monomachine + MPC 1K duo for the next long while and am trying to brainstorm a good workflow between the two. Both have great MIDI clock but I am more familiar with the Elektron interface, hence I want to use the Monomachine to change sequences instead of the other way around.

Also - thinking about sequencing the MPC from the Mono and was wondering also about triggering individual sounds in a program. Would it be possible to trigger a snare & a kick without having to switch MIDI channels? About to go read on this, but definitely cannot find too much about the first question.

Well JJOS2xl (the japanese inofficial OS) seems to have some support for switching sequences via MIDI input -- at least there is "NEXT SEQ" mentioned -- ( http://www7a.biglobe.ne.jp/~mpc1000/os2xl/button.htm ). But I don't know more about it than from what I read from the given page (I did not - yet - upgrad to 2xl). Furthermore, I'm not sure if the sequence switch is possible during playback / syncing, or only while the device(s) is/are stopped. Would it be possible only when stopped, then it would of course render useless for you.
Apart from that you can use a footswitch to change the sequence (SEQ +/-), also only possible in JJOS2xl and also I don't know if it's possible in play mode. I only know that other supported footswitch events work nicely on JJOS1, which I own. And of course a footswitch would be no MIDI. Nevertheless, maybe its of some help.

Concerning the second question. As far as I know, whatever MIDI note event coming into the MPC will trigger the currently set program (or no program at all, in case the track is set to MIDI of course). So in case you only work with a single MPC program (the stuff being played already + the samples you wanna trigger from Mono) then it should work (assuming a correct assignment of note number -> PAD). But if its about 2 different programs, I think you would have to change the program / track / sequence to have another program responding.

NO GUARANTEE as I'm just guessing and am not the most experienced guy out there, but maybe there's some useful hint in there...
