What up all!
ive been using a 2kXL on and off for about 10 years and just today picked up a MPC1000, new black pads, JJ OS 4.99, maxed to 128mb ram.

already found a ton of information on the forums and mpc-tutor.

i know you can load sounds and midi files from the 2kXL to the 1000, but what about programs? The reason I ask is before i hit DO IT I dont want to mess up any data on my CF card with MPC 2kXL programs, sounds, sequences, etc. I've already loaded an .ALL (all seq and programs) file and some sounds just fine, but hesitant about loading a whole program...

Still really figuring out JJ OS in general. Anyway i'll look around on here more and study this OS comparison chart i found. any help greatly appreciated!

you are not going to mess anything up just by loading them. the only issue will be if you try to save over the original with the same file name.

if you are still unsure, make a backup on your pc or another card of your 2kxl programs and just leave them alone. then make a new folder called 1000 and save all yer 1k stuff in there.

coo thanks the programs loaded fine. yeah im going to keep the 1000 and 2000 data separate.
ive downloaded a few manuals and still having trouble finding specific things like assigning the q-link slider for quantization. i found one thread about the topic on here with little bit of info.... not sure which manual to refer to for OS1 4.99H
im currently looking through operators manual version 2, which seems updated from the original, but i pretty sure my OS came out after this manual...i could be wrong here...

oh and the 4.99L is the latest (last) OS1 version. I'd recommend you to install that as there were some important bug fixes.
