The description of this forum is "opinions and reviews" whereas the other MPCs are described as tips n trix etc...in that light--i don't feel so bad about this rant, but fed up or not I think you should read it, I don't tie up allot of text on this forum, but some thigns need saying.

albeit, most MPC2000 tips are good for any drum machine/ sampler, there are some things that don't apply... so how bout a tips forum for the 1000. and change the name of this one to:

pussees that talk'n'shit. be sure to put yr pix up when you post, I wanna see the pink

when you pay 2000 for a machine, you know what it does how it smells ... you don't find people wait'n to gripe..they want help on makin the money back on the machine.... if THAT guy buys a 200-500 dollar drum machine, an it dosn't do somethin, we say.."wadya expect its just a cheap machine, but I was blazed an I had to have those claps"


the problem here seems to be that 800 was a little to good to be true, but not so cheap that you expected shortcomings, especially when the previos machines had such a reputation. But it does everything for me here at home that it did in the store where I bought it..where I had the oportunity to play with it for as long as needed (granted I work there, but I let people play all day before they spend.)

are you bitchn? you have a solid sampler/sequencer, with 16MB great pads..good build, with cheap storage and a emergency computer interface built in. FLash mem, som "for the ruff" effcts , individual and digital outs.. they thrown in a 32mbs of free media and offered a cheap mem upgrade.

100 bucks for akai brand ram, figure you took the savings and paid yourself an hourly wage for the time you spent looking,asking, comparing...and now worrying about the dropouts. how much would your saving pay each hour?

Some of you should divide up this whining time an see how much you really saved by not buying from a store to begin with.

Ive sold damn near 20 of these things in a small DJ shop, Ive demo'd them 100s of times and I sell CF cards an sample cds to about 50 customers that I know have 1000s, out of about 10 that **** about limits, there is only 1 that didn't buy it from a website, and only 2-3 of them had even touched one before they opened the box.
When you get a lapdance, do you wait for the 2 for 1 deal? and then complain that the songs don't play the whole way through?

the total price its the same, your settling for a lesser portion, if you want the whole pie, or MUFFin , you have pay the whole price

This guy has tough talk but doesn't follow his own rules. Saying people need to show their pictures and then describes his establishment as, "A small DJ shop." What's the name of your shop? Where is it? Ur being a hypocrite because you know you are irreputable.

I had the notion that this would be my last post, till I saw that the focus of the forum had shifted away from the complaints n blame...to a forum that shares my interest: beats and technique.

Loo2004ep, Im not saying that the drop-outs aren't acceptable..., take it back for refund. did the demo unit at the shop f'up? I know usually you're just handed one from the back, but 5 beats in and I would exchange it for a working one. it seems so far noone using akai 128 are having trouble...maybe its bad internal ram

even a mailorder store would probably offer 128 akai ram rather than piss you off.
drop outs suck,but do we need multiple threads about it? go get a refund.

my point was that its easy to impulse spend 800 you don't typically think and research as hard as 2000-3000 , wich is what a 2000xl withsime upgrades costs... you danm sure know what itis capable of first.

I don't own adamn store, Ill confess that someone had PM'd me askin me to steal a mpc1000 from work an sell it for 500, i thought an easy answer was that Id be stealin from myself..

It sucks that you are the one "selling" (actually the pimp is the one selling) the machine, but you obviously don't know much about it except that you hit buttons and sounds come out. People ARE having trouble with the the AKAI memory. People ARE having trouble with the AKAI memory.

I have been trying to tostep this away from the complaints and back to the technique...cuz I'nt had 1 problem other than the fixed bugs... my whole bltch was threads like this one... but I see why the rage goes on... just as you don't beleive I work in shop , I can't help but think your not selling beats, you wouldn't have time for this if you were.. id hate to see how bad you got screwed on a -work for hire- or how deep you went in the can when your last production agreement didn't cover budget. you have comprehension problems Im sure the paperwork would just blow ya bap high.

I think having a "tips & tricks" thread would benefit everyone. The original intent, I believe Mad had in mind was misunderstood. There are a lot of ploblems we all have with our hardware(no pun intended). I am not taking sides: sharing techniques we use in making our music would be very helpful, instead of complaining about the short-comings of our equipment. The reciprical of that though saved me $50.00 because MPC-forums' members, recognized how unfair it was to pay akai's price for ram expansion; therefor, I have your solutions for a common problem to thank. Without first recognizing problems, we aren't able to construct solutions . What mad wanted was to put gripes aside, and utilize the machine to it's fullest potential, by us the artificer gaining better literacy about our machine's capabilities. Having a dedicated " Tips tricks thread for the MPC1000" would be greatly appreciated. Mpc-forums = good people I am in debt to you for solving most problems I faced when dealing with my MPC model(s).
