hi folks !

perhaps a newbie-akai-question :

i still try to organise my samples by names in my mpc - it`ll be cool if i could scroll through the directories / samples with a logical system (like in a pc) and not looking in a salad of mix up names...

e.g. i have kick_1, kick-2, kick_3 ... and snare_1, snare_13, snare-16 on my pc and if i am transfering it on compact flash card its (in my mpc) listed as :

kick_3
kick_1
snare_1
snare_16
kick_1
snare_13

it should be :

kick_1
kick_2
kick_3
snare_1
snare_13
snare_16

any useful suggestions ?

i tried different solution with naming and renaming but i guess not finding a clue alone... is this a fu**in akai problem ???

thank you very much and greetings from germany,
dominik

I don't believe the MPC sorts files alphabetically, or at all for that matter. From what I've seen, the MPC displays the files in a first-written, first-shown, order. Put your samples on the card in the order you want them to show up.

This actually sounds like a good program to make... an MPC CF Card Sorter

or an outlet that lets you hook a keyboard up to your mpc to get your typin done quicker.

Awww yeah, good topic!

I too am really curious about MPC file sorting techniques...

I wish folders were loaded onto ram, not just what's inside them. I hate to say it, but this is an area where computers are better....

(i still love you the most, lil 1k, don't you worry!) :)
