alright heres the deal...
im going to mention everythign in the order i did it in...
first i cleared the internal memory, and disabled the autoload.
and my MPC works normal and liek it usually did after that.
few hours later i go looking for samples.
-latly ive been sampling right through my mixer to my laptop and trimming samples up on my laptop, then sending them to my MPC via USB. (basicly becasue i hate the editing or lack of editing options the MPC1000 proides)
anyways, so instead today, i sampled right from source to MPC, i skipped the laptop.
so know i have this sample i want to chop up and take out parts, and edit, so i decided to bust out the laptop, move it to the laptop, do my businedd there, then just send it back, no problem right? wrong...
i took my long sample, did what i had to fo, and ended up with 4 parts. pt.1 pt.2 pt.3 pt.4. so i move them over, creat a program, assign them to the pads i want. turn off my laptop, put on my head phones, go to MAIN ready to try and make a pattern, (with a clear head) i press the pad with pt.1 then all of a sudden...
this crazy static, loud to, very loud, and unusual. nothing else but static, no sign of a melody. then i press pad 2, pad 3, pad 4, all the same. im all vexed wondering what the helll just happened.
big deal, i mpve them back to my laptop and try again, i must have done something wrong. so i do it again. 10 minuted later sample problem, but this time i didn't assign it to a pad, i just pressed F1 to "play" sound right before you load it. same thing. i was vexeddddd.
so i thought maybe it was the main sample, so i re-sampled from the source which was NOT vinyl. then re-cut, then re-sent to MPC1000. same thing.
alright so by now im yelling at my MPC, yelling at my laptop, stressing the fact i didn't tget the 2kXL.
anyways, determined i loaded the MPC back up after takign a break. sent the samples, which were in parts back to my laptop. i opened them in cooledit, copied them, and pasted them in a "new" project from the file menu, saved it as somthing with different name. sent them back to MPC, made ANOTHER program for the 4th time, loaded them one by one to find they worked.
-hmmm.... so its in the quality setting im figuring. since the MPC samples at whatever it does ?1141?
-the new project i started at 44.1 worked fine, same samples. just copied from 1141kbps or whatever, over to 44.1 khz (or something, this part im foggy about, i dont knwo all the quality apecifis) but it worked.
so im surprised and happy i got it to worked, but im pisSSed off that it didnt' of the bat, why couldn't i just take teh sample of MPC qualiy, send iit to laptop, trim it, send it back, assign it, and it work then? i have no idea. this is why im reporting this.
i hope you all get what i am trying to say, im not very good at explaining things, so feel free to ask anything
also the weirdedst part that totally PHYSHED me out, i tried turing auto load back on, becasue it was one of the orignal chanegd i made, and in the process of tryign to figure out whats wrong i backtracked. when i had it turned on and tried loading and playing the orignal samples that were transfered from the MPC and MPC recording quality, the static was there like before, but those stupid annoying presets in the INTERNAL folder came in and out at random over the static. it was absolutly crazy.
thanks for your time, sorry for typos
