MPC1000bkV2 main button not working

I just picked up an MPC1000 secondhand(again) and it seems the main-key isnt working. Is this fixable and what should i check? All other buttons are fine but this is one that gets heavy usage so I would like to see it in working order too

Is there a selftest-mode for the buttons?

tact switch went out, it's an easy fix if you're comfortable takn it apart and know how to desolder and solder...search forum for tact switch

before heating up the soldering iron, id give it a spray with some deoxit. fairly new mpc, doubt the tacts are dead already...

yep. deoxit d5 is the way to go first.

Unfortunately Deoxit is not for sale in Europe, what would be a good alternative? I hear people talking about Kontakt90, a video-head cleaner?

Oh and I was wrong, it's not a v2 but a first round black MPC. It has the black fat pads so I guess its not a big deal but it can be a bit older.

Kinda feels like a rendez vouz btw, once owned an Evolver, Deoxit is Dave Smith country haha

yeh, but the selftest-mode requires a crate of records and a turntable though..

Sad thing is I bought it from someone who lives next to the border with Germany. Why didn't HE fix this! He can buy Deoxit on a friggin bikeride...
