Dying Buttons Advice

Hey guys,

I'm certain i'm not the first to have this problem whereby basically my tact switches are starting to die... Q-Link switches, transport switches, Function switches etc, all only work now if i really push hard on them which, particularly in a live situation, is far from ideal

My problem is that i really have no idea with electronics, so the soldering which i have heard is the solution really makes no sense to me at all lol. Does anyone know any real broken down instructions on this repair, or even better a video guide on how this will be done?

Based in the UK, I am also pretty unknowing of anywhere this repair could be done for a cost, this would also be helpful if anyone knew of anywhere like that?

ebay sells the tact switches , you may be able to call around town and describe your situation and ask if they'd be able to repair and put the new switches in. the switches do not cost a lot, but i dont know how much it would cost for a repair man to fix it. im not sure how hard/easy it is to repair, so hopefully someone else knows, so that you wont get ripped off.

try de-oxit first. It might restore them to some degree.

Deoxit is quite expensive but don't be tempted to use anything cheaper like WD40 etc. It can be got in the UK from ebay via HiFi Tweeker suppliers.

Deoxit is quite expensive but don't be tempted to use anything cheaper like WD40 etc. It can be got in the UK from ebay via HiFi Tweeker suppliers.

Avoid WD40 like the plaque, had a turntablist friend that use it on his fader because he was to cheap to buy Deoxit fader lube. It killed his fader in no time

Yeah, I just want to put in my vote for De-oxit as well before you try anything technical that you haven't done before.
I had a dying "up" button that eventually completely bit the dust.
No response whatsoever.
A few sprays and it's working better than it ever was. Never imagined it would restore it the way it did.
I'm probably going to have to eventually buy some new tacts, but this should tide me over for quite a while.

lol..yup thats a no no...if u use any oil ..use something like gun oil or clipper(haircutter machine) oil..it doesnt leave residue and doesnt atrract dirt and build up.

got my 2500se new and after 6 months some tacts were acting up. fvck nukai! i sprayed all tacts with deoxit and they feel like new even one year later!
