sampling off the main outs

i was recently expirementing with having the mpc sample itself via setting it to main outs. what i noticed is everytime i sample something and save it and play it back it has like half the volume as the original sound did. so after i repeat the process say 3-4 times the result ends up beig so quiet that its un usable. i tried adjusting the -48db or whatever and also messed with the rec gain knob but it seems to ignore them when sampling through the main out or maybe im wrong?

The main out setting, under mode+pad whatever, OTHER, must be set to 0db for resampling to turn out the same volume.

Keep in mind that if you do that, you have to watch out that you don't run out of headroom. You won't anymore be able to set a bunch of pads to 100 level. I find that setting all the pads to like 70 gives plenty of headroom at the 0db setting, maybe higher.

Also, the gain knob does nothing when sampling the main outs.
