Hi community, I am Ramiro from Argentina (excuse my english), I use mpc 1000 live (jj os 4.99), I play with a hip hop group and the mpc is the main instrument on the set.

Last saturday I was sound checking for a gig in a good place, and the mpc started acting really weird, the buttons took me to incorrect functions (example: i press MODE and it takes me to Effects Page) , and there was a lot of noise at the output,

That afternoon I came home and learned how to reset the MPC (turning it on with erase button pressed). And it worked just fine. Come show time, it worked great but at the last song the noise started again, and the reset did not work, it was doing the same, lot of noise.

I dont know what to do, I really need to get it fixed since I have a pretty nice gig comin soon, I would greatly appreciate any help.

Thanks . Ramiro.

This is usually caused when there is a bad connection between the mother pcb and the control pcb.  This is due to the cheaper ribbon cables that nu Akai use. Check ribbon and it's plastic connections are sat correctly .
In most cases a small sticky bit of plastic tape stuck on the reverse of the contact (end) of the ribbon is all it takes to get things going again.

Make sure contacts are clean and not covered
