Recording playback problem

Whats happenin people


ive been using the mpc for 2 years now havent had any problems recording from vinyl and playing back my samples that i recorded.

but recently I've had a problem where every time i record a new sample and try to play it back its all distorted and broken up.

i have my levels set correctly and its perfect when i am simply monitoring a record,
it just when i playback the sample i recorded?


does anyone know why this is?

(running jjos 128mb ram + 2gb and 4gb cf cards)

I've tried different cables, turntables and mixers.
also tried coming straight from my vestax handy trax turntable into the mpc aswell.

monitoring is fine the playback is corrupt?

could be faulty ram?
its worth taking it out and putting it back in. that could be all it takes.
at the worst you just get more ram.

IF that is actually the problem.

when dealing with ram problems, take steps in this order until you find what fixes it:

1) remove, and reseat ram (take it out and put it back in)
2) remove, clean, and reseat ram (take it out and clean contacts with pencil eraser)
3) remove, buy new ram, replace

damn it happened again,

its like it can only hold 1 sample in ram..

im gonna have to buy a pencil with an eraser,

or more ram
