i hooked my mpk25 to my mpc1000 because i want to use the keys instead of the pads when i play sounds but i cant hear anything. Am i hooking it up wrong or do i need to do something special? i hooked the mpc out to the mpk in and vise versa then on the mpc i turned on the corresponding midi channel. I dont really understand midi but i can get it to work with reasons (with the mpk). any idea what im doing wrong?

Patience is a virtue.

Your OP is very vague.

There are a 100 things you could be doing wrong, so its hard to tell. Is the cables any good, did you plug em in right? have you got any midi recording happening, if so do you have a program loaded to track? What sounds? in MPC or is midi through to another device.
