transposing in step edit

does anyone know of a way to edit multiple notes at one in step edit mode? i know how to select multiple notes(events), but is there a way to transpose them all at once?

Transposing will only affect MIDI events. You'll have to manually change the tuning of your samples. However, if your program already has a tuned sample for every note, transposing the MIDI will give the desired result.

thanks for trying to help, but u misunderstood my question. i was wondering if it was possible to transpose selected events in Step Edit Mode.

i'd like to be able to transpose more than one event at a time too....
shouldn't be hard to implement in a future OS if its not already possible...

coniption, you can transpose more than one event at a time. See pages 25 and 27 of your manual.

- Go to seq edit / transpose
- Select the time range to transpose (ex: 2nd beat of first bar to third beat of second bar)
- Select which notes to include (default is all)
- Select which track of which sequence to transpose
- Set the amount to transpose by (±12 semitones)
- Click Do It

The way Step Edit works, you are by definition working on one event at a time. I don't see that changing, since they put the "block" operations in Seq Edit.
The Seq Edit Transpose operations only work on Tracks with Type=MIDI. This is to let folks transpose whole songs without changing the Drums. (So your bass drum won't change into a Conga!) You need to set Type=MIDI on any Tracks with melodic content , or Seq Edit Transpose will skip it (by design).
