I've found a name to my pain and it's called MIDI.

Whats up folks, I'm having a big BIG problem....I have an Audiophile firewire and a midi man 2x2, I hooked my Mpc1000 midi I/O to the audiophile and my Triton I/O to my midi man. I went into cubase opend the device manger all ports where active I know midi dosent send sound it sends data only... that's all fine and dandy so i have my audio outs hooked up to my mixer so I can hear what i'm playing. I enabled the first midi track to record my drums from the mpc I pressed play and This noise which I can't explain just poured from my monitors so i had to turn the mpc off I played my triton and everything was fine what am I doing wrong? is the midi man and audiophile clashing? If anyone can explain to me how to hook up the Mpc and triton to the Miidi man and audiophile i would be for ever greatful and i want to use cubase as the master. Someone any one( with knowledge) please help me out.

I can't tell you exactly what to do, since I don't know how you wired it all up, but it sounds like you have a MIDI loop there: notes going round and round, never ending. MIDI can not work in a loop, your flow of events must have a start and an end.

Question: which Sequencer do you record MIDI to? The MPC1000 or Cubase? You can use both, but only one can be the master MIDI sequencer, and that determines how you wire it all up:
- the master is at the "logical center" of your setup. Think about how MIDI flows in (from the Triton keyboard, MPC pads, etc) and flows out (to the Triton sound engine, MPC sample engine, VSTi etc.)
- the master is the "MIDI router" in a complex setup: that is where you enable "Soft Thru". (Both Cubase and MPC can do that, turn that feature off in the "slave".
- So, the same MIDI flowing out of the master must never come back in again, or else you have a MIDI loop.

Try setting the Triton to "Local : Off". That splits the keyboard from its sound engine, so:
- the MIDI from the keyboard goes to your master sequencer, it get routed by Soft Thru to wherever you like. That can be a VSTi, sampler, or another module, but you get no sound from the Trition synth engine unless you route the MIDI back there.
- you don't get duplicate notes when playing the Triton synth via the sequencer.

MIDI is an old dog, over 20 years old: it will bite you on the hand if you don't treat it right, but it can be your best friend too, you just have to get to know it...
