Using an MPC to sequence external MIDI gear?

hi people,

am considering buying an MPC 1000/4000 to use as the main sequencer/sampler in a studio set-up. How do you think it would do keeping a laptop and some synths in time?? Would I still get that rock solid MPC swing from the other gear?

MPC1K has great timing. I run all my machines off it as the master clock.

i regularly sequence synths and modules with the 1k, it works great

i also sync it to my mac running DP3 and DP4. works fine doing that too

Just remember the laptop might suffer from audio latency, depending on its sound card and how you set it up.
