I just watched that video, and the sound from the MPC's analog outs is awesome.

When I tried plugging into a Apogee Duet, I heard some background hiss from samples that were clean on my computer. It sounds like my MPC is running through a low SNR pre-amp, I can hear the air in the mix.

How do I manage to get that crisp, clear sound like Animal Nation in that video?

I'd really like sommadat help.

you should look at your gain staging and also FX and master out to.

FX can add noise.
Gain staging and master out is also something to look at and how it relates to your apogee.
So too hot, it clips, not hot enough and you are getting the noise floor to.
so you have to balance this and it will help. Also you have to look at RF and EMF interference to, so make sure your cables are good and not picking up noise.
hope this helps
