MPC 1000 how to remove ribbon cables?

Does anyone know how I can to remove the ribbon cables from the MPC1000 boards? I need to remove these cables (from the pic)

With those type of flat-flex cables, the connector tends to have a little slidey bit to lock the cable in. I can't exactly see from the pic whether they have those, and I've only ever taken apart my mpc from the top/front face (though the cable with the blue ends, it has one of the type of connectors I'm talking about on the button PCB side, so I'd assume the others are like that too)

See if there are some tabs on the side that can be slid outwards a bit, in the direction the cable is coming off the board.
That should loosen the cable.

just be gentle, those are some of the easiest things to screw up when taking apart electronics.
