playing samples on the pads

Ive been rockin wth the 1000 for about a year and half now, i was watching a video with a producer making a beat, i think it was J depina..anyways, I noticed that on his 2000, he had to hold down the pad to play the entire chop, and if he lifted his finger off the pad, the sound would cut off.. this would be dope for certain beats and I was wondering if there was a way i can set my 1000 to do this

Which OS do you use? If you have J OS you just have to press MODE+Program and choose the right sample. Now you just have to press Window and change from "One Shot" to "Note on".
