Midi+ Logic + Programs Problem

Hi all,

I'm trying to record the midi notes from a song into logic. (i use between 4-5 tracks worth of drum samples for the drum part) Its syncing up. It reads certain sequences in the beginning. But at one portion of the song, it stops reading the midi notes in logic.

(my set up is mp1000 into logic via midi connected to MPC to Motu)

My educated guess is that the sequence where it stops recording has several different tracks and uses two different programs for the samples starting at the point where it no longer records. So its not able to read the Midi for some reason. It just stops recording notes, then last sequence in the song, again records midi (because its a sequence repeated from earlier in the song)

What would my work around be? Basically, I'm recording the sequences into logic because I want a big midi file with all the midi notes being triggered. Because I'm recording a midi in logic for a keyboard, and some of the pedal parts extend across different sequences. So its best just to have a long song sequence instead of constructing a song on the mpc where I can't have place a keyboard midi part over different parts.

anyways, should I save the individual sequences as midi? Then piece together into logic. Or is there another way around this?

I don't think it has anything to do with step/edit. I think its odd that for certain sequences in the song, the midi is recording fine, but it is when I am using more than one program in a sequence, it stops recording the midi in logic. It begins picking up midi again for the last sequence, (which was a repeat from the beginning of the song before it stopped picking up MIDI)
