I need to re-solder/ de solder 2 points on a slider 2 qlink PCB. I have no experience in soldering at all. I have a kit unopened that I bought a long time ago.

The slider is $7, to replace the PCB without re-soldering is $52. I figured I give it go just to see if I can do it. Recommended for a noob?

Soldering's not very hard, but it's definitely something that gets easier, and better quality, with practice.

So what exactly do you need to do? replace a slider? That's not the most critical task, doesn't require you to be a soldering pro.

I'd go for it. Even if you mess up and end up needing to buy a new board (you'd have to mess up pretty hard to completely wreck the current board), it's only $7 and a bit of effort lost.
And if you're successful, bam, you've got a new useful skill.
