does anybody know the life expaectancy of a compact flash save/loaded like 5 or 6 times a day maybe.

typical flash life is about 10,000 write cycles per flash block. Block size depends on manufacturer, but is typically 128bytes to 512bytes or 1kbytes. So, part of it depends on the how the OS uses the card (does it re-write the FAT tables to the same location every time? or all over the place?
But you should get at least acouplke YEARS doing 5-6 saves per day.
