JJOS2XL Update and another Question

Hey, I'm really new in terms of the MPC, got two Questions and hope, that you can help me:

1) I bought a MPC 1000 on ebay - it has the JJOS2XL 2.22 (of course activated by passwort) - and now I want to update it to 3.32. But the Ebayer no longer has the passwort, so I ask me, if I need it, to do the update. (On jjos homepage I couldn't find an answer - only, that I have to download the latest OS and to performe it from the load screen of OS2XL.)

2) I want to lern quickly. Is it useful to buy the "chopping bible". Or can anyone recommend other written instructions (no websites).

If it's OSXL 2.2, then that's a free update. Just download OS 3.32, place it on your memory card and load it just like any other file - reboot when instructed to. You don't need the password, it's permanently stored within the MPC hardware.
