Wavs not recognized

The strangest thing has happened to me, i import wavs into the flashcard and i can see all of them except one,when i hook up the MPC to my PC i can see it, but not when my MPC is not plugged in,
anybody knows whats happening?

were the wavs 44khz 16 bit? also some editors save some settings with the wave, what can confuse the mpc.

Something that happened to me yesterday:
I could not load a sample I already had used before. To be exact, I COULD load it, it would show up in the pgm page, but the sound would not play, and in the "Trim" window it produced strange noises and messed up the gui - frightening.

I asked about this before but it seems it rarely happens, noone knows anything

I thought: even if a WAV was the wrong format, or had any other problem, it would still appear in Load mode - just refuse to load properly.

What's the file name? It might not show if the name is too long or contains spaces.
Also run a general card file system check: on PC it's CHKDSK /R, dunno what the Mac equivalent is...

I have (apart from the mpc1k) a yamaha sampler. The yamaha sampler allows me to export samples to WAV format. So I did that, transferred my work from yamaha format (proprietary) to standard WAV so I can sell the yamaha sampler and continue my work with the mpc...

Bad idea. All the wav files created with the yamaha sampler cause the mpc1k to tell me WRONG FILE FORMAT on load (and abort loading).
This was puzzling because the files are standard WAV 44.1/16bit.

What I did then was to load the bad WAV files on my PC and open them with recycle: no problem at all. Then I re-exported them to the CF from recycle ---- voilà, the MPC loads and reads the WAV files no problem.

If anybody understands this, I'd be happy to share.

I havent been working with the Yamaha sampler. But wav.files comes in different types: Windowc PCM (standard), A/mu-LAW, ACM Waveform, DVI/IMA ADPSM, Microsoft ADPCM. Maybe the problem lies here somewhere?

I've had that too, I think it was extra "WAV" chunk info. A WAV from a magazine cover CD actually crashed my MPC1000. Then I ran it through dbPowerAmp to "convert it" to the same format, and then it loaded perfectly.
WAV format is "modular", some makers add "chunk" extensions, like the ones that tripped up on ProTools exported files in earlier MPC OS versions.

WAV format is not always strictly adhered to. I wrote software to clean up WAV file data for myself and it will likely be put into the MPC1000 Program Creator software.
