Maximum ram you can have in MPC 1000?

What's the limit?

128MB, but you need to use a 256MB memory module to get that.

Yes, I read about that(didn't know that was the maximum though), but after I installed my 128mb, it says 128mb of ram installed when I start it. Is only 64 of those used?

Is it an Akai branded 128MB memory module?

If so, that is why, they probably label their own 256MB modules as 128MB modules, to avoid confusion amongst their users.

I don't know enough about RAM to recognise whether that is actually a 128MB module, or a 256MB module that they are selling specifically as a 128MB module for the MPCs.

Maybe it is something to do with single vs double sided RAM modules, with the MPC only utilising one side of the memory module, since the dual-inline memory modules (DIMM) have enough contacts for 64 bit memory access, while the MPC might only use 32 bit memory access, therefore might only access half the available memory on the module, or one side of it, I am not sure.
