This thing just fell out of my MPC, did my MPC give birth?

Hi everyone,

Today I noticed something loose rattling around inside my MPC 1000, so I opened it and out fell this thing:



It looks like some kind of a Compact Flash card reader, but the CF reader is still in the MPC and working. Has my CF reader cloned itself or what's going on?

Looks like a previous owner had an IDE-CF adapter fitted to the internal IDE port, to allow the use of a CF card as an internal hard drive, and it has come loose.

It's extra like a gun in the chocha.
