Hi, I'm very interested in the mpc 1000. The only thing stopping me from copping one is the bugs, and the fact that I read somewhere that the build quality can vary from machine to machine. Idealy I'd just try one in the store but my town is too small for a music dealer like that.
What I was wondering is if anyone can tell me a good website that you could order the 1000 from, and if you got a lemon, be able to return it or exchange it without and hassels. I live in Canada, so basically anything American owned is probably the way to go.
Or should I just give up on the 1000, and save for a new 2000xl? (which I think is pretty rock solid?) I've been producing music for about 4 years on the cpu, and I just want to get away from the screen. But I still want something reliable. I'm not in the mood to spend a grand on the 1000 just to be a beta tester for akai. IMO akai should pay me to test out a buggy product not the other way around.
